The Crucifixion

And so they watch…

The Pharisees, angry and proud

The soldiers, officious and cruel

The crowd, indifferent and ignorant

And yet…

There are those who are wondering

Those who are grieving

Those who are repenting

Those who are recognising

That this man could be who he said he was

He could be…

The King of Kings

The Son of God

The Saviour of the World

He could be…

Dying for my sins

Restoring

Interceding

Loving

He could be…

Everything I’ve ever needed

And in Him I could be…

Forgiven

Accepted

Defined

Loved

Reconciled

with my God in whom I find my meaning.

And so, in the midst of the chaos

I kneel

I repent

I adore

I accept

That this is truly the Messiah

And I am grateful beyond words

And the skies darken

And the son of God dies

And I am made whole – one with God
